Verizon Wireless launched a service that enables subscribers who use a special phone to get their e-mail in more than 50 countries.

The cellular operator’s GlobalEMail service works with the Samsung i830 phone it launched last week. That phone works both on Verizon’s CDMA network in the U.S. and on GSM networks, which is the dominant technology in Europe and many other parts of the world.
